This was the first live university project we have been given. For this project, we were asked to design the basement of the Quilliam Brothers' Teahouse Located in Newcastle Upon Tyne. The space functions in two rooms, the staircase being in room 1 surrounded by a cafe seating space, and in room 2 a cinema seating option was required were the room serves partly for movie nights.

The Quilliam brothers teahouse has a captivating aesthetic, with a great sense of humor were a concept was driven towards the 19th century living era in England.  The atmosphere of the design is meant to give the customers the chance to visit the 1800s. Starting from upper class to lower class surroundings, to the street life and exciting entertainment undergone in the theatres. Where entertainment and advertising has gone at a peak during that time, As well as, Implementing the Extravagant embellishment appeared as elaborate borders in poster adverts and lettering in graphic design

Following the clients' aesthetic. The design showcases the era in different living settings, with the upperclass victorian life and the kitchen setting viewing how tea was made. Room 2 displays the street life and entertainment setting, this room partly serves for 'movie nights' with a cinema screen and functional seating options adapted for those nights. Graphics are displayed all around the two rooms. The lighting and furniture choices were contemporary complementing each space. Other features added were, a shelving display for merchandising the brand's products, a micropayment point displayed as an antique iron stove, a storyboard for the brand, noticeboards for announcements and a little photobooth session.
